Why do people on here have such a hard time understanding the current oppression of women?

In the US, some men (and women) like to say "facts" about violence and women are made up; and they say even in other countries, it's not that bad. If you don't want to deal with something, it's amazing how much evidence you can manage to ignore to keep your views intact. I know there are lots of good guys, but there are also those who revert to violence at the drop of a hat.
