Can I sue my husband for abandoning the family and his responsibilities and emotional distress?

We are undergoing a Legal Separation. My husband of 16 years decided to give me 6 weeks notice and simply leave the family with his secretary half his age. I know we will get some meager child support and if lucky, insufficient spousal support, BUT, IS THERE A WAY TO SUE THE DEADBEAT FOR MONEY DAMAGES IN ADDITION TO SUPPORT FOR THE EMOTIONAL DISTRESS CAUSED BY LOSING THE BREADWINNER IN THE FAMILY AND BASICALLY CAUSING US TO GO DESTITUTE.
