In florida is there legal precdnt 4 a person who helped by loaning computer to friend and never got returned?

i helped destitute friend get back on feet by loaning computer to network them self and job skills online. a couple of months elapsed without much feedback, When I finally asked for the computer definitely to be returned I was told the computer was considered to be a gift by the other person. No written contract was ever signed by either party. I am trying to find similar cases wherein the plaintiff who made the loan won the case. please help, any help would be appreciated
